What is an arborist?

In general, an arborist is a person who specializes in the care of individual trees.  Most often the term arborist is used to refer specifically to ISA Certified Arborists who have demonstrated a certain level of experience and knowledge in tree care by passing a comprehensive examination developed by the International Society of Arboriculture.

To maintain their certification they are required to continue their education so they can be up-to- date on the latest developments in the field of arboriculture. ISA Certified Arborists also follow a written code of ethics that guides their professional conduct.

A good arborist will abide by industry accepted standards, and will not use outdated and harmful practices such as topping trees, or using climbing spikes while pruning.  Well maintained trees can add value to any property while poorly maintained trees can become a liability as well as an eyesore.

Acorn Arboricultural Services has not one but six ISA Certified Arborists currently on staff to help ensure that your trees can live up to their full potential
